Third annual meeting of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People administration with the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Ukraine has been held on 21 of November in Kiev. Crimea development fund Charity organization was the official organizer of event and Crimean International Business Association was the partner of the event.
Refat Chubarov, the chairman of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People, Mustafa Djemilev, the peoples’ deputy of Ukraine, a new composition of Mejlis and more than 30 representatives of embassies of foreign countries and international organizations among which are EU, UNO, regional representative of UNOHCR in Republic of Belorussia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, representatives of Ministries and Administrations of central organs of Ukrainian and Crimean authorities attended the meeting. Alexander Formanchuk, the head of expert-analytical counsel of the Head of Council of Ministers of ARC, Yuliya Tischenko, the head of development of civil society problems program of UNCPI, Natalia Belitser, an expert of Pylyp Orlyk Institute of Democracy and others have also attended round table.
A presentation of the history of diplomatic and international relations of Crimean Tatar prepared by Guliver Altin, a director of Crimean historical museum “Larishess”, has been made in the first part of meeting.
Main topic of discussion this year is a solution of the Crimean Tatar problem within a framework of realization of eurointegration intentions of Ukraine.
Mustafa Djemilev, an ex-head of Mejlis, also underlined that important aim of this forum is to inform about the state of things of representative organ of Crimean Tatars and introduction of the new composition of Mejlis.
During the discussion, an issue of holding an International Forum in the first part of 2014 on the restoration of Crimean Tatar People has been negotiated. Upon Refat Chubarov’s opinion, the only instrument of solution of Crimean Tatar problem is a continual dialog with authorities. In its appeal to representatives of Ukrainian government, he underlined that on the eve of 70th anniversary of deportation of Crimean Tatars the International Forum has to be held: “With the state authorities we obliged to find the answers to all the questions”.
In its turn, Peoples’ Deputy of Ukraine, the Head of Committee on peoples’ rights, national minorities and interethnic relations, Valeriy Patskan, has declared that maximum efforts shall be applied to implement legislative acts improving the position of Crimean Tatars in the shortest possible terms.
Addressing to the representatives of diplomatic corpus deputy Head of Mejlis Aslan Omer Kirimli has addressed with a suggestion of mutually profitable cooperation, holding consulting and organizational meetings on the matters of economic nature. He is convinced that development of Crimean Tatar People assumes detailed examination of economic interests and preparation of effective plan of mutual cooperation in the best interests of Crimea inhabitants.
“We are grateful to representatives of international community for their support in the course of holding of pan-European and transatlantic dialog which has for its aim to solve the key problems of Crimean Tatar people in Ukraine. On the eve of such an important event for Ukraine as signature of association agreement with EU, consolidation of efforts directed to restoration of rights of Crimean Tatars is highly important” – underlined Refat Chubarov.
Traditional meeting has been finalized by formal reception on behalf of the chairman of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People.
